Nate's A Party Machine

This past weekend, Nate went to Charlie Stern's 3rd Birthday party @ The Little Gym in Cherry Hill, NJ.  He had a blast playing with all the other little kids, and loved all the different obstacles upon which he could crawl and climb.

Holidays 2008

So for Nate's first holidays, he cleaned up.  Here you can see a few pics of his first Chanukah and Christmas.

Nate Meets a Puppy -- Part II

A few days later, another one of my co-workers brought her almost 9 week old black lab puppy in so that we could all meet him. I brought Nate in too, so that he could see the puppy. This meeting was less than successful. Nate was WAY more interested in the handle on the puppy's crate than the puppy himself. Although Nate did stick his finger in the puppy's crate and the puppy nibbled on him which Nate found thoroughly enjoyable!

Nate Meets a Puppy -- Part I

One of my co-workers found this cute little Hallmark puppy for Nate. When you press the puppy's front paw, he barks Jingle Bells and wags his tail. I think it is hysterical... Nate was intrigued but unsure.

In walks trouble...

This weekend Nate has started walking with his toys.  Won't be long now.  We're in for some trouble.

What does a one-handed clap sound like?

Even if it doesn't have a sound, the motion Bart made is something Nate does now....  he waves goodbye!  Yep, seems he was having fun with Aunt Meredith Saturday and decided he'd start waving.

Not as Simpsons quote-worthy, but Nate also decided to mimic Meredith's banging on the table, like ancient drum-messaging.  Too cute.

Update

Nate had a checkup today. Apparently our little man has been busy because he grew 1.5" and gained 2 pounds (that makes 20 pounds and 27.5" long). All other fronts are A-Ok and he is developing right on schedule.

Nate surprised us all today by taking off up the stairs. It was a surprise because he has never tackled more than one stair before and we were in the middle of a diaper change!

9 Months of Nate

Nate is 9 months old today. Who can believe it, it has gone by so fast. Things are progressing nicely although it seems to me that they are picking up the pace a little bit.

Nate has not one, but two teeth on the bottom.

He is crawling, actually, really crawling now as evidenced by his following me from our bedroom down the hallway and into the bathroom yesterday.

He is pulling up on EVERYTHING! This has led to a couple of bumps and bruises when he pulls himself up on things that are hard and like to bite little boys (like the cast iron foot board on our bed).

He has started cruising, not just around pieces of furniture, but from one piece to the other. And being the very brave boy that he is, he is letting go more and more and standing supported!

The other day he went from sitting on the floor, to sticking his little butt up in the air (think downward facing dog) to standing unsupported... I was amazed at his strength.

His hand eye coordination has gotten much better thanks to Gerber puffs (AKA baby crack), Cheerios, and freeze dried apple pieces. If it is on the try of his high chair and it is little, he is going to pinch it and put it in my mouth.

Way to go, little man!

The Philadelphia Zoo

Jon and I took Nate to the Philadelphia Zoo for the first time today. We went with our friends Anthony, Lisa, and Sophia. I don't know how much Nate actually got out of his first visit to American's first zoo, but he did pay an awful lot of attention to the pigeons.

Stand and Deliver

Nate decided that it was time to get a different perspective on the world and pulled himself up to standing today. He had done that once or twice in the past but never consistently which is was doing today. Once he was standing he decided that one hand was good enough.


He looks pretty pleased with himself, doesn't he?
