Nate in Action

I was trying out the "sport" setting on my camera today and Nate was a willing (ok, no so willing) subject.

Busy Bees...

The weather may not be cooperating with the concept of "spring," but we have been very busy here.  We have made several day trips, visited favorite places and new places, seen friends, gone to the dentist... you know, spring stuff.

Nate had his 6 month check up with the Dentist...  No cavities!

We made our semi-annual pilgrimage to Lancaster, PA

And went to the Franklin Institute for the first time.

Longwood Gardens Through Nate's Eyes

Yesterday Nate, my mom, and I went to Longwood Gardens.  You can see the pictures that I took here, if you are so inclined.  Nate took his camera with him and snapped a lot of great pics himself.  I mean, I am really and truly impressed.  I guess I shouldn't be considering his father is a photographer but still the kid is only 5 but seems to have a natural eye.

Crash

Nate decided this afternoon to build walls (using cardboard blocks) and crash through them.  He had a blast.

Gamer

Nate has developed a taste for video games.  We have a Wii and so far I have been able to keep him playing Mario Kart and the Resorts Sports package.  This weekend he persuaded Jon to play some Simpson's game with him.  He is quite focused.

Goggles

Nate decided that he wanted to wear his swim goggles out of the house the other day... not one to stifle his creativity I let him.

Nate in Target

Walking through Target, Nate and I pass the lingerie department... Nate run down the bra isle screaming "Mommy, look, BOOBS!!!"  Everyone shopping near us stops and looks at me to see what I am going to do about the child screaming "BOOBS!!!" in Target

I look at Nate and say "yup, boobs go in those" all the while laughing so hard I nearly fall to the ground and wet myself.

From the Mouth of Nate

 -- "Mommy, take your shoes off."  "I don't want to take my shoes off Nate."  "But, Mommy, your feet must be hot, they've been in those shoes all day."

-- After explaining to me how a tornado works Nate then adds, "yup, God make that happen."  I said, "I think the weather makes that happen, Nate."  To which Nate responds, "yeah Mommy, and God make the weather."

-- "Creatures are animals."

An Indoor Snowman

Nate made this cute little guy in school, an indoor snowman; which is fortunate, because although we have had some snow recently, it was not enough to make an outdoor snowman.

We took Nate bowling today for the first time.  He had a ball and actually did a little better without the ramp.

Giant Nemo

Nate LOVES Nemo.  He has a little one that he sleeps with and has called his best and favorite pet.  Jon found this giant Nemo online and bought it for Nate without telling him.  When it came I took it out of the box and hid it on his bed.  When Nate discovered the "Super Nemo" he went crazy!
